Explore the full potential of Interactive Whiteboards and various free software to create engaging educational content.
Interactive whiteboards enable teachers to use multimedia content in whole-class teaching. The use of interactive whiteboards enables teachers to be more efficient and effective in the classroom. In this course, you will learn about touchscreen technology, from the traditional interactive whiteboard to the latest technology that converts any surface into a touchscreen.
You will learn where to source free and paid-for interactive lessons, as well as learn advanced interactive whiteboard skills and how to create your own interactive content using free, open-source software and apps. You will be shown examples of how other teachers use interactive whiteboards to teach the curriculum using computer games, and audio and video multimedia content. In addition, you will learn how to share your own audio and video content with other schools enabling the development of a community of practice in education.

This course is divided into modules and lessons, each focusing on key topics, which are broken down into easy-to-follow concepts.

Enrolment Procedure
Training Information
Courses: Each course is approximately 7-10 hours in guideline training time including time for offline reading and assessments. By completing additional courses within the required training period, you can easily progress to achieve additional qualifications including a Flúirse Foundation Award, Flúirse Standard Award or a Flúirse Diploma.
Qualification Paths: By successfully completing any course, you will qualify for a Flúirse Certificate in that course topic. Completing 3 courses within a 12 month period in the same category will qualify for a Flúirse Foundation Award. Completing 7 courses in the same category within 18 months qualifies for a Flúirse Standard Award and ultimately completing 10 courses in the same sector with 1 elective course (any course from any category) within 24 months qualifies for a Flúirse Diploma.
Format: Courses are delivered 100% online so you can train in your own time and at your own pace. Each is divided into modules and lessons, each focusing on key topics, which are broken down into easy-to-follow concepts. Throughout each course, complete interactive activities to help you summarise what you have learnt and appraise your understanding.
Pre-Requisites: There are no specific experience or qualifications requirements before starting your training. For those with experience in any of the course topics, you are encouraged to move quickly though any aspects of the course content that are familiar and to focus instead on areas where the content is new or less familiar.
Training Period: Once enrolled on any single course, you have 6 months to complete all courses within this training programme. For Foundation Awards (3 course) you have 12 months and for Standard Awards (7 course) you have 18 months. Diploma programmes (11 courses) have 24 months. We recommend spending at least 1 hour each week training meaning you can always complete your training well before the deadline.
Course Length: On average each course requires approximately 7-10 hours of study. This certificate training programme consists of 10 guideline hours which on average takes no more than 10 weeks to complete with just 1 hour per week training part-time. Training is fully flexible and the entire course can be even completed in one session if preferred.
Assessment Criteria: Assessments are scheduled only when you are ready. There are no final exams, continual assessments are included through each course with a test at the end of each course.
Course Fees: Fees are paid online in advance or for schools or groups you can select a range of flexible instalment plans and a quote or invoice can be issued. Fees vary depending on the number of courses or training qualification selected. You can speak to any of our Course Advisors to get a detailed breakdown of course fees and instalment plan options.
Support: Our Support teams are on hand to answer all your queries, either by phone, e-mail or video (shared screen) support Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 5pm (excluding public holidays).
Career Support: After graduating from any Flúirse Diploma programmes, you can avail of free career support where our team will assist you in updating your CV and Linkedin profiles.
Certification: Upon successful completion of each course you have the opportunity to download you certificate. Once you complete all courses within your training programme you can request your Flúirse Award or Diploma certificate. Diploma certificates are posted to your home or school address.

Although the courses are delivered online they are different to traditional “online” courses that offer no real support. How are courses structured?
The courses contain several modules each of which is made up of individual lessons.
What are you expected to do to complete the course?
The course completion requirements are as follows:
Each lesson will contain self-assessment exercises to guide your progress and ensure your comprehension.
At the end of each module you will complete revision questions intended to prepare you for the final exam.
Before undertaking the final exam, you will be allowed to take a mock exam to practice until you are confident enough to complete the final exam.
When you are ready you may attempt the final exam to complete the course.
How much time will I have to complete each course?
Each individual course should take approximately 10 hours of online study.
You will be allowed up to 6 months to complete each individual course, with up to 24 month for a full diploma programme.
